Application Questions
Ask applicants your own questions on every apply page, after ours, and read each applicant's answers on their page.
Go to Settings > Application questions to write your own questions for applicants. They are asked on the apply page of every one of your hiring plans, after the questions every application asks (the résumé, name and email, then our own application questions), in a card titled Questions from your company name.
You need edit access to hiring plans to see the page and change your questions.
Writing your questions
Click Add a question, then open the question to edit it:
| Setting | What it does |
|---|---|
| Label | The question as the applicant reads it. |
| Help text | A line under the question, for anything the applicant should know before answering. |
| Field type | Short text, long text, email, number, date, yes or no, single choice, multiple choice, or a Likert scale. Choice questions need at least two options. |
| Smart fill | Fills the answer from the applicant's résumé when it holds one (a LinkedIn URL, a phone number). The applicant can still change it. |
| Required | The application can't be sent until the question is answered. |
| Prefer not to answer | Lets the applicant decline to answer. |
| Active | Turn a question off to stop asking it without losing the answers already given. |
Drag questions to put them in the order applicants answer them. The preview beside the editor shows your part of the apply page as applicants see it; you can try it, and nothing you enter is sent. You can ask up to 25 questions.
Saving
Save changes saves a new version. Applicants who already applied keep the answers they gave, including answers to a question you have since removed.
Reading the answers
Open an applicant from the hiring plan's board: the Application tab lists every question the apply page asked them, ours first and then yours, each with their answer. It shows for candidates who applied through the apply page. Answers to the equal opportunity questions never show for any one candidate.
